Celebrating over 40 years of fine arts in the community

Artwork by Dennis Millar...

Dennis Millar is an artist located at the Jersey shore in Manahawkin. He has earned awards for his work from the Pennsylvania Watercolor Society, Philadelphia Water Color Society (PWCS), the Philadelphia Sketch Club, the Pine Shores Art Association (PSAA), and the Long Beach Island Foundation (LBIF). One of his paintings – “Yee Haa!” – an oil over alcohol ink painting on canvas – appeared on the cover of the

'Portfolio' – the newsletter of The Philadelphia Sketch Club.

His art education include studies in Philadelphia at The Samuel S. Fleisher Art Memorial, the Philadelphia College of Art, Tyler School of Art, and in Surf City NJ, Jane Law's Art Studio. He began his career as an oil painter in 2004 focusing mainly on seascapes and house portraits. He then progressed to gouache watercolor, alcohol ink, and acrylic media and earned Signature status at PWCS.

Dennis presently volunteers as webmaster for Pine Shores Art’s website (pineshoresartassociation.org).

He and his wife, Joyce, have 3 children and 4 grandchildren, and often spend warm-weather time at the beach. Dennis enjoys painting, photography, and woodworking.
